The Solu Khumbu region of Nepal rewards trekkers with breathtaking views of snow-capped giants like Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam and Thamserku as it weaves past yak trains, Buddhist monasteries and Sherpa settlements high into the Himalayan alpine. We flew into Lukla for a roundtrip to Kala Patthar (a high viewpoint above Everest Base Camp) and a side trip to Chhukung Ri.
